Florida Rainforest Garden Engagement

Kayla + Kelly

Florida welcomed these two Virginia lovers in the wild heat of July- a time filled with rain and the sharp stings of mosquitoes. But they braved the elements and started their engagement journey through the misty magic of ginger and crepe myrtle blossoms wet with rain, majestic live oak trees filled with Spanish moss and a fiery sunset over the banks of the Matanzas river.

Kayla and Kelly's love story started when they met in Virginia, where Kelly grew up. Once they realized they had found their soulmates, Kelly proposed to her beautiful lady with the perfect diamond ring on the very park bench they met at. They've just relocated to Florida, and it was so special as a Floridian to be able to welcome them into the natural beauty of our state. The rain ended up being perfect- giving the gardens a misty, magical feel where everything felt fresh. And you could just tell that rain or shine- these two hearts light up each other's world just by having one another at their side.

I wish these sweet ladies a warm welcome to Florida and happy trails on their upcoming Florida wedding!

At night I dream that you and I are two plants
that grew together, roots entwined,
and that you know the earth and the rain like my mouth,
since we are made of earth and rain.
— Pablo Neruda, Regalo de un Poeta

I hope you enjoyed this adventurous engagement of Kayla + Kelly! I am so proud that Florida finally legally supports same sex marriage equality, and hope that rad love stories like these will help encourage folks to support #marriagequality!

In light + love,
