New Zealand Travelogue | Part I

DECEMBER 15th, 2016 - JANUARY 8th, 2017 • 3 WEEK ROADTRIP

New Zealand roadtrip sunset stop at a beautiful mountain rock formation and wildflowers
Love, like everything else in life, should be a discovery, an adventure, and like most adventures, you don’t know you’re having one until you’re right in the middle of it.
— E.A. Bucchianeri

Tilda, our sweet little rental car has taken us across the North Island by ferry to the South Island, where we've traversed 1865 kilometers of windy, sheer cliff side mountain roads, ponga ferns, and night driving trying to avoid the hundreds of wekas (kiwi-like flightless birds) who scurry about on the roads..

7 days into our trip and we still don't have our luggage- clothes, toiletries, tripod + camera gear, camping gear..

Fortunately kiwis aren't picky about whether you wear clothes or shoes in public. Joking, of course!

So this has been an interesting trip, and our week of camping has turned into a week of AirBNB at some funny little places across the country.

Onwards to Arthur's Pass! Merry Christmas everyone!

In light + love,
